    Chapter One: Surprise Customer.

Blackall's Adventure Arcade and Video Rental

The next day, one of the aforementioned locals the Big Three had spoken of was in their entertainment business playing some pool with a few local friends of his. Eryk "Joey" Stryfe was a nice fourteen year old young bloke whom was glad this business was not only there but open to nice joeys like himself. He had already won one game of Dodge the Croc and was permitting a rematch to his friend.

Joey was the son of two zookeepers in Sydney, training to be one himself. He earned his nickname "Joey" when he was a toddler, when a flyer put him in her pouch while the parents were looking the other way (it was possible the she-roo was a Dreamtimer, considering the average weight of children in that stage. Typically, normal kangaroo flyers don't have a pouch big enough for a human child to fit inside of.) He was about five foot four inches tall with a slim fit build; had hazel eyes, light tan skin and messy chestnut brown hair. Since he was not in school at the moment, he wore the khakis of a zookeeper, with the word "Trainee" printed in block letters across his back.

"Aw man... youse beat me again, mate. At least youse try to give me more than one chance. Let's get some food and drink from the cafe counter."

The business had both normal humans as well as Dreamtimers and special folk coming in at all hours; so a human could get to see fantastic beings within the entertainment business. A simple sign with the words of "No Dreamtime Strife Nor Recruiting Allowed" was posted on a few walls where one couldn't say that they didn't see the warning. This meant, no fighting nor nabbing cute joeys. The entertainment business was a neutral zone where even parleys could occur. Olivia took the boys' orders and then she handed the order off to Rick in the kitchen. Lorne was working the video return archives as was usual for him to do. He was also categorizing any new videos for rent that they had received. Marcy was patrolling the business since she was the official security among her friends.

Joey said, "Okay, Zander, order up. The winner buys the loser meals and drinks; unless youse lost on purpose."

Zander Dragonheart growled. "Youse know better than that, Joey. Youse were just luckier than usual today."

Rick came up front with their meal and a gift wrapped package with Eryk's name on it. "An adorable cutie told me to make sure you got this as a birthday present, Eryk. Enjoy your meal and your birthday present." And then Rick headed back into the kitchen once again. "Woo-Hoo! Fear the Otter!" The American otter fan was a wild and free spirit it seemed. No wonder his friends loved him. Marcy was heard saying, "Did you intake too much energy drink, Richard? I think you woke up half the Outback with that yell. I don't mean the Dreamtime citizens either; they hardly ever sleep."

Joey opened the gift box and he saw a boomer kangaroo version of a teddy bear within the box wearing a zookeeper's tunic. He gave an accusing look at Zander. "Did youse arrange this? Ah mean, it's super cute but... these are 'ard to find in the shops, mate."

Zander peaked over the box's edge. "Ah didn't arrange it. No one was supposed to know that Ah was bringing youse 'ere. Youse 'ave a secret admirer! 'ow sexy and mysterious! Some blokes get all the luck!"

At that moment, Lord Tally came into the business and he went over and rang a bell on the video rental desk. Lorne came out of the back chamber and he smiled at the Were-Dingo. "'ow's the tootsies, Tally? We can't 'ave youse 'aving sore feet in the outback, now can we?"

Tally gave Lorne that serious look. "Tonight's the night, Lorne. After youse blokes close, suit up and meet up with my order brothers and Ah on the other side of the Barcoo River. This is the only warning youse guys get. The Poachers are on the move." And he turned and headed back out of the business. It wasn't like him to be that serious unless some of his species had gotten nabbed by the stupid poachers. Lorne then whispered to Olivia, "Same as last night, sheila; spread the word discreetly. Ah'll tell the others. Morgan must really need our 'elp out there." And he headed off to locate the other boys.

Olivia told Marcy and Rick what the message was; Lorne handled James and Timmy. "Tonight we earn our spurs and for youse, Timmy, youse will make Sonic proud to be 'is fan."

Timmy quietly remarked, "I'll be all over it, Lorne. I promise."

The group of friends resumed working until the last of the customers departed for the night, which included Zander and Joey for their trip back to Sydney. Joey had a hard to find plush of something he had been wanting but could not get. Then clean up occurred followed by lock-up of the business and then making sure no one was watching them, they went through the motions of their earn powers to become the newest Power rangers team in Australia. And boy, were the poachers ever going to regret learning about these new rangers. Marcy was waiting to kick some ass, LHG style.

The Adventure Rangers struck their poses as they brought their morphers up over their chests and they touched the crystal A1 buttons on their screens and shouted off their calls. As the A1 buttons were touched, explosions of aboriginal swirling energies circled them as their elements rotated around their bodies and the background behind them changed to the appropriate locales. Their ranger uniforms from necks to wrists and ankles, covered them entirely with their gloves, boots and shiny belts where a Sonic Handheld buckle was affixed securely. Finally, their Mobian helms with the images of their totems in the full visor appeared over their heads. There a flare as their element symbols appeared over their chests surrounding a capital 'A' as their scenes returned to normal. "Power Rangers Adventure Guild! Go!"

Then with a teleport, the team flew over the Barcoo River to the rise where the Order brothers waited for them to arrive. Kiel said, "Ah am glad youse blokes are punctual. Morgan said that this latest camp got bold and started operations earlier this afternoon. Ah knew youse mates were not available then, so we kept an eye on the stupid bums. They will be using live ammo during yer strike, so don't let any of them injure youse. And they will be quite potty mouthed and impolite to yer group. Just act and speak professionally and youse will do just fine. Use yer magic and other special powers whenever possible. Free the animals and take down these bad people. The authorities will be glad to jail any survivors. None of the other Dreamtime Lords 'ave made any requests; but they are going to be watching, none-the-less."

At the outskirts of the Poacher Camp, Morgan Fury met up with Kiel and his Ranger team. He stated, "Ah don't like the looks nor the smell of this place. Too many cages. And a good few empty, so try not become residents in them, okay? Kiel told me that youse blokes could 'andle this. Just 'elp me to close this place down and load prisoners into this lock-up transport Ah brought with me so we can deliver them to the police. If youse do good for me, Ah will support yer ranger team publicly even if Ah never find out whom youse blokes are. Now go mash these bad blokes, but good."

Kiel smiled as his rangers moved into position.

A perimeter poacher guard thought he had noticed movement outside the camp but before he could sound an alarm, what looked like Knuckles the Echidna was directly in front of him punching the guy in his sac as hard as possible. "Someone ask for a Knuckle Sandwich?"

The guard hit the ground in a fetal position as Lorne proceeded to tie the guy up to be transported to the paddy wagon where Morgan and the order brothers awaited. The rest of the team made good with their strike on the Poachers following the leader's lead and making sure any whom attempted to fight back got the hurt they so desperately deserved. Marcy and Rick were really getting into this attack. Marcy had no qualms about ending someone's ability to procreate, while Rick used Mateo to pelt the poachers from the sky with rocks and stones. The only thing missing was the sticks. They performed without speaking much primarily because Morgan was nearby and might recognize their voices. Morgan said to Kiel, "Ah am impressed with yer Adventure Rangers, Dad. Thanks for making them."

    End of Chapter One.
