In the Woods North of River Bluff

Wendell quietly said to Adonis the Equitaur, "Man, you are something else with that bow. I have never seen someone take down a buck stag like you just did. I wish I was as great as you are."

Adonis finished skinning the deer and packing up the meat into the space age food wrap that he brought before loading the goods into his saddle bags. "Maybe someday, we can grant that wish safely. Time to head back. I have to wonder if anyone else arrived while we were out here. Give me a moment..." He activated his Comm Unit. "Clipper? We're on our way back. Any new arrivals as yet or do we need to bag another buck before returning. I have a nice boy out here who'd like to be a hero like us someday."

Clipper replied, "You better try to bag another buck before sundown; we have had a few more refuges arrive. Some on foot; others on bicycles. Three people arrived on horseback. Thankfully horses can eat grass. Roxi is still resting. I guess she was very tired. The other factions I have been monitoring are getting closer. A few mainstream rangers are paddling a longboat up the river. They are taking turns rowing; they might not arrive until tomorrow or the day following. As for the cute boy, I might be able to pull some strings with him. What's his name?"

Adonis said, "Wendell Randor Leonard from Sierra Mesa, California. He is a Battle Cat and Orko fan."

Clipper said, "I'll contact one of my cousins and ask him if he can help with an empowerment device for the nice boy. You could get a new ranger ally out of the deal. Clipper out."

Adonis looked at Wendell. "Clipper said we have to bag another buck. More arrivals to feed. Ready to find another buck?"

Wendell smiled. "I am with you, Master Nick."

      Nearing River Bluff

About an hour later, Eugene was wiping off his googles as he thought he saw something weird. Then he said. "I must be seeing things."

"What do your eyes see, Eugene?" said Novice Kyrsten.

Eugene said. "Look for yourself... at the two o'clock position. My goggles are clean, so my eyes must be deceiving me."

She turned themselves in that position, and saw a dome with a cross. Just like in the Novitiate's last dream. A dome with a crucifix emblazoned upon it. A sign of sanctuary. I've made it, Nathan... Thank you... and thank the Good Lord. She then sped up. "There is no time to lose. It's our destination. Let's land."

Speeding towards the Kansas-Southern Missouri Border

Deryk was being jostled in the back of the Armored SWAT Truck, the gas tank was filled with enough gas to get them there, and a little more in case things go sideways. They had several dead rabbits in a burlap bag Eduardo entrusted him with. "Why are we bumping a lot?" Deryk complained.

Eduardo just laughed. And then he let out a "WOO-HOO!" Driving this monstrosity reminded him of the military trucks he used to drive overseas. "We want to get to Missouri, right?! We are only about a couple hours away now on unmarked roads."

Deryk just had to grin. 'umans are so... Alien, He thought to himself once more.

After bagging the second buck and preparing it properly as they had the first, Adonis and Wendell were making their way back toward the border of the barrier when they encountered a limping coyote. As Wendell tended to the coyote's injured paw, Adonis gave the mutt a small chuck of the venison to chew on. When the injured paw had been properly wrapped, the two were once again on their way.

After they had left the animal, the coyote slyly smiled as he mentally said back toward the Spirit Lands, "There are good humans in the world worth assisting still. Looks like old Logan loses the bet yet again. Snowleaf and Nargon will be so tickled. I may be a trickster Were-Coyote, but at least I get results. And in this case, I also got some free venison. I am not really injured. But it was a good ruse." He chuckled as he darted off into the surrounding woods once again.

        River Bluff

Adonis and Wendell entered the barrier from where they had left it that morning and Adonis led the way back to the Rebellion Kitchen building where the two began stocking the freezer with the acquired venison. Adonis then powered off his Equitaur form and had Wendell come with him as they walked about to see whom all had shown up while they were gone.

Clipper mentally reached out to Adonis. "Nick, the nun arrived with a morpher and she was carrying the escort courier. He had lost his best set of wheels. The other two are still en route along a southern unmarked highway and they will likely arrive sometime tonight. One of the other two has a morpher of his own. In the meantime, I have been in contact with another Clipper legion member. He tells me that Wendell's counterpart in another dimension is currently a power ranger after Orko gave him a power device. Therefore, we might be able to get a duplicate of that device for our Wendell."

Adonis grinned. "You're in luck, Wendy... We might be able grant you that wish sooner than you think. For now, we need to see if the men got the house of worship constructed to code. Clipper tells me that the nun arrived."

Within the barrier of River Bluff.

After giving Eugene a soft landing, Novice Kyrsten powered down and touched down on her own. "Move over, Sister Bertrille," she remarked to herself as she looked around and sent the Holy Tigress Symbol back into the cover of the Good Book, in which it remains until it is needed again.

"Bertrille?" echoed the Courier as he got his Pickaxe ready in case things go sideways. "A member of your Monastery?"

"The Flying Nun," the Novitiate clarified with a small smile. "You missed out not watching the old TV shows as a kid, Eugene Stevens." Who said the religious types can't have a sense of humor?

Eugene groaned. "You choose now to be funny, Novice?"

Adonis was checking out the new church building, which the men had painted white on the outside to give it that religious look and feel. Inside were the beginnings of Church pews for seating the masses. When he saw the brand spanking new organ in one corner, he suspected that Clipper had acquired it from somewhere. Building one from scratch would have been out of the question in these trying times. He then emerged as he walked over to wash his hands in the river. Wendell was still following him around since he really didn't have a lot to do in the safety zone.

When Adonis finished washing his hands, he instructed Wendell to do the same; and after that, the two headed back to wait at the foot bridge over the river. Since Adonis was still in his ranger armor, he figured a ranger would approach him eventually to speak with him.

Though as if she decided to think for herself instead of letting the escort courier lead her, Novice Kyrsten headed closer and closer to the church. Eugene followed close behind with his pickaxe. "Novice, at least walk beside me. If we are going to protect each other the least we can do is keep our guard up until we see something that ensures our safety." He then saw something near the river. He removed his goggles. "Hmm... There's another Ranger at that bridge."

Novice Kyrsten was clutching her Good Book, and she headed over to the footbridge as fast as she could as her long skirt would allow. Unlike Clipper's description, she wasn't dressed in the habit of a Nun, but most of her hair was still concealed under her Novitiate's Veil. Eugene was close by, unnerved by the Novice's speed in flats.

Novice Kyrsten asked the Ranger. "Are you a blasphemous creature, or a sinner awaiting confession?" She then said, "For Heaven's sake, Eugene! Keep up!"

Eugene huffed. "Speak for yourself, Novice. You've been excitable since we got here."

Adonis reached up and unlatched his helmet as he removed it to reveal his human head as he looked toward the nun and Courier. "I am Adonis Dominick Canon, but my friends call me Nick Cane. I was a transfer student from Australia, where I had been attending college at Thunder Bay in Canada. Clipper and I escaped from the monsters that attacked the campus and we came here. My ranger designation is called the Stellar Stallion Ranger. Welcome to the Last Rebellion, formerly the ruins of River Bluff. The barrier is a product of my little magical friend whom doesn't want to scare the refuges."

"At best, he looks like a small humanoid mouse whom wears a stylish partial business suit. He was the one forwarding travel information to the courier and to other refuges and resistance cells around the country. He uses magic but I promise... unlike others of his ilk, he is only an information specialist from... down below. He does not go after anyone's souls. His species is called a Devimouse."

"Rangers and Riders would be permitted to come enter the base; the refuges must remain in the resistance encampment. This is Wendell Randor Leonard; he wants to join the good ranks of which Clipper is looking into assisting him with that. I am not in charge of the Rebellion; I am simply a lone Power Ranger whom will assist the resistance when they have need of my services. I also do necessary hunting for the refuges so they are not at risk."

Adonis then placed his helmet back on his head and he latched it securely back in place. "And with that out of the way, What are your names?"

                  In the Ranger Base

Roxi had finally gotten up showered and dressed for the day, she had also tried to find a quiet spot to practice martial arts where she would be out of the way "are you like a mouse with a powercoin, or how does that all work?" She asks Clipper curiously while taking her time to perform each move with extreme precision, the martial arts style however matched nothing known on earth however it was still a very effective style.

She was also trying to forget the dream she had, it wouldn't ever come to pass she reasoned in her head, which would cause her to rush through some of her moves and even practice with her morph but not actually morphing, she wanted to be ready for anything they might come across, weither it be evil rangers or just more beast soldiers, Roxi had essentially been on her own since she was 14.

                  Outside of the Barrier

Sarah after having fought with the soldiers for a little while was more then certain she'd set off alarms alerting those beyond the barrier that she was there especially since she had bounced the head of one of the soldiers off the barrier several times, hoping that it might atleast give them a jolt to use the brain in their head, looking around to find a quick escape she had burrowed into the ground and re appeared several feet away however she also demorphed and proceeded to run away.

After retreating to what she felt was safe she let out a sigh of relief and frustration "if I'm going to be effective i will need to start creating a lair, but i don't want to make it too big, this is not my world and i refuse to do to it what happened to mine." she says

Clipper glanced aside at Roxi and said, "I am a magical species therefore my abilities stem from the natural Ley Lines that crisscross the entire planet. I don't have Morphing energies since my magic is not related to the Morphing Grid. I am an Information Devil Mouse whom usually deals with mages and witches. They think they are so smart yet they tell their familiars and we Devimice everything. Then they cannot recall what they previously said or wrote down. It is my job to provide information. What all would you like to know?"

Roxi smiles and giggles "that is so awesome, i don't know where to start, I have so many questions" She says she had never met anything like clipper before, she also slightly blushes when Clipper asked what she would like to know, but quickly changes her mind on what to ask " tell me about the rebellion , and those beast soldiers that are obviously dumb enough to fall for my ploy?" she says not familar very much with either, she quickly blushed more but tried to shake it out of her head on what else she wanted to know.

she began again to practice Kor'merek the style while unalike anything known on earth also very closely mirrored much of the martial arts used by ninjas and samurai , it seemed Roxi had a very long time to practice and master this martial art , as she prefered to not use weapons but if forced to prefered her blasters which had blades on either side and could also be fired, this made sense considering Roxi's backgound as a BaseRaider Ranger. however it wasn't until recently that she had gotten a morpher.

Respectfully, I must remain close to the Novice until I have confidence she is safe. My promise to her Mother Superior extends that far." Though he was trying hard to keep serious like the resistance that saved them from the task caravan, his smile betrayed his rogue nature and his eyes said he wanted to know the Ranger a little better. I don't know much about the individual resistance cells except for those whom have a ranger or a rider assisting them. I was tracking the Nun and her courier as well as two whom haven't arrived as yet. And four whom are paddling up the river. They had been in New Orleans during the initial attack on the planet. The rest of their former team got captured and I have been guiding them mentally along the river ways to reach River Bluff. Having some established rangers in the Last Rebellion would raise morale for all of our refuges."

Novice Kyrsten hummed, as she headed towards the church. "Looks like you may not be as stranded after all Eugene."

Letting out a sigh of relief that he didn't mess up a first impression. Eugene said, "Driving a vehicle is one thing, but building one from scratch is another."

"Then why are you following me? We already got here." Novice Kyrsten felt safe there. It was Eugene that was still uncomfortable. "I thought churches make you queasy."

"They do." He looked away for a moment. "Mother Superior wanted to make sure that you got to the church safely. It extends to the other ones, but she was worried about you in particular. She didn't have to say it. I could tell." He remembered the time Mother Superior helped him in his early teens as well. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to return even in an escort capacity.

"Okay. You can look into the church, but afterwards I suggest you go to the workshop, and see what inspiration comes to you," the Novice said nonchalantly. "You are best when you have something to work on, Eugene Stevens. Even the Nuns said so when praising your efforts bringing supplies to the Monastery."

                            "Thanks, I guess."

Wendell then looked at Adonis as he said, "That Eugene person was looking at you in a rather disturbing way. Is the man going to be okay?"

Adonis replied, "If he is wanting down my pants, then I will have to disappoint him. I am a choir joey from back in Australia. The reason I don't have the interior accent is because I didn't grow up in the interior at all. The interior is where you find most Australians with the Cockney sounding accent. Australians whom grow up around the coastal regions have non-accented voices. I had an Uncle whom had Outback adventures and other excursions nearly every day. But one Christmas he came in and he told me that a real education off continent would do me a world of good since otherwise, I might get molested by creatures and monsters from the interior. His words scared me and I sought solace with the local church where I developed my choir voice for the Lord. When I got old enough for college, I got my parents permission to migrate to Canada to attend the University of Thunder Bay. It was there that I got involved with the Zodiac Legacy Power Rangers. Their leader Will invited me in to get a tour of the ranger headquarters and told me I could go there in cases of extreme emergency. Then the monster attacks occurred on campus and I found my way back to the base where I met Clipper and he helped me to get the Sagittarius Zodiac morpher, which was supposed to be the sixth ranger for the team. In fact, the base here in River Bluff is the backup base of the Zodiac Rangers just in case they ever lost their original base. And just as Clipper and I escaped from Thunder Bay, the old base got destroyed."

Wendell said, "And Clipper is going to help me to get a morpher device for myself? What will he charge me for this?"

Adonis grinned. "I think he will do it for free since you are a cute human male. He likes looking at cute humans. He likes brunettes the most. We'll go inside once Kyrsten and Eugene decide to check out their base lodgings. I am just glad that the soldiers finally left the valley to find easier pickings."

                              Wendell slyly said, "Boing!"

Adonis started laughing since he knew what Wendell was referring to.

Though Novice Kyrsten went and saw how modest the base lodgings were, Eugene went straight for the garage/workshop. He kept his rucksack with him so he could at least sleep somewhere that doesn't feel like a home. He was groaning to himself for acting like a fool around the leader of this compound. "Okay... I can repair a car and that would be easy. Now how in darnation do I make a new vehicle out of nothing?" He had a reason to why he punishes himself when his hormones are triggered. He just didn't like to confess it. At all. But to those who are from below, they could most likely see the small taint within his being. "Maybe I can teach myself how to build a car and get myself back out there within... probably a month or two... No that's too long! If only I had basic blueprints or something."

The Armored SWAT Truck finally broke the horizon. And they were coming from the Southwest. From within that truck, Deryk pointed ahead, as Eduardo drove. "There... it's in that dome. We can get through that, and we will most likely be safe."

"Okay," said Eduardo as he shifted gears. "You might wanna be ready to morph in case things goes sideways. Hold on!" He floored the gas pedal and went maximum speed into the dome of protection, and it took a lot of pumping the brakes to get it to slow down. Turning it helped to stop it faster with a very audible. SCREEEEECH!!

After going through the barrier, Deryk could feel his hair stand on end for some reason, but he knew that it would take a lot of time for those that made the barrier to trust him as safe. Maybe it's because he still isn't fully good yet? Who knows? "Whatever energy that dome is made out of, it gave a bit of a static shock."

"Funny... I didn't feel a thing." Eduardo sniffed then laughed. "Let's do some recon." He got out of his seat and opened the door. He then looked back in. "You might wanna check your hair, Deryk. They will probably think less of you if you look like Beakman."

"Whoever that is," Deryk grumbled. So alien.
