Chapter One
Mallard asked, "Do they have any sorcerers among their number, ally?" Dragaunus replied, "No. Wraith stupidly made contact with them. What is your plan?" Mallard replied, "Is the magic Aramus in your chamber right now?" Dragaunus replied, "Thankfully no." Mallard said, "Remember what I did to kick you guys off the planet the first time?" Mallard grinned evilly.
Dragaunus smiled back. "You are getting better with that grin. Good plan. I'll leave you to it. Dragaunus out." and the call ended.
Mallard looked to Ace and said, "He asked for my help, Ace. I won't even be causing property damage this time. I am just going to drop their ship through a hole to the magic-dead and engine-dead universe but this time, directly upon a resource rich Planet Sauron. Once they discover that the world they are on still has all of it's resources, they might forget about Earth entirely. And if they return from that, then I will have no choice but to agree with the Mighty Ducks that resources is not the only thing the Saurians want."
Ace said, "I swear to you, Sigmund, that if you backslide after eight weeks of police training, I will kick your ass myself. But for now, get rid of the new Saurians. That was the request. I will be watching."
Locating the new Saurian space ship was the first step. Thanks to the Ducaine Mask program installed into their shuttle's scanners, they had no trouble locating the new Saurian ship albeit cloaked. Why the Saurians loved using the cloaking technology was beyond him but he loved smearing the inability to hide in others faces. First, he cast a spell on the ship that prompted crew members of the new ship to want to return to the ship for no apparent reason before falling asleep inside their ship. Once no more new Saurians were arriving in the ship itself and they had closed their ship's doors, Mallard waited one hour and then he set off the wormhole portal directly under their Saurian ship.
Although he had originally planned on sending them to the same universe dimension that he had sent Dragaunus that one time, at the last moment before opening the portal, he set the coordinates to a version of Planet Sauron that was a sticky tar covered energy draining swamp world in a far more powerful magic-dead, engine dead dimension where it would take one hundred times the power to get back into normal space. He had also blanked out their navigation chip instead of stealing it, making so their navigation computer had no data installed upon it whatsoever. Getting back to Earth would be impossible once that was done. On hind sight, he thought that he should have done that to Wraith; maybe next time... imagining Wraith stuck in a tar swamp brought a smile to his beak. Then the Saurian ship was gone.
"Come in, Godzilla Red! This is Mallard! I am on my way to talk to you and if you try to lie to me about your reasons for being on Earth, you get to join the other Saurians in the same thing I just did to them! You said you wanted to destroy the mask which I gave to you and you are still on the planet! God help me, if I find you guys gathering resources, the kid gloves come off and you will pay for lying to me! Mallard Out!"
Dragaunus replied, "I am refueling my ship, Mallard! It takes time to fill our tanks!"
Mallard growled, "I can send you guys back to Sauron where you would have all the fuel your people would gladly give you! If you think I am stupid, then I may start acting like Aramus! You are beginning to look like a very tempting Koopa King!"
Dragaunus sighed. "Please, Mallard! As soon as our tanks are full, we will leave Earth! I swear it!" Then he paused. "Wait a minute... Where are you?"
And at that moment, the communication signal went dead and for the second time, the Saurian ship fell through a hole and it pulled all of Dragaunus' minions through the hole with him. The landing this time was deep inside a hollow cavern INSIDE Planet Sauron. And perhaps worse, the wormhole generator program as well as the Nav Chip were completely erased. At least this time, he wasn't in a dead dimension. He could make the robots dig the ship out over time but for now, welcome to your new prison inside your own planet. Mallard did one further thing to thwart the Saurians if they chose to try to return to Puckworld. More on that little trick later. For now, the Earth was free of the Saurians for the time being. Mallard glanced over his shoulder at his allies. "I didn't cause any property damage this time, guys. But I got tired of the Saurians lying to me. I gave Dragaunus what he was asking for twice and twice he broke his word by staying on Earth to steal our resources. I sent him back to a cavern near the center of his own home world; ship, minions and all. He could blast his way out."
Falcone smirked. "But if he did, then he would be destroying his own home world! Nice one, Mallard! Despite the others wanting you to be a police duck, I think you're okay! When you get tired of playing Mister Nice Guy, we can talk about the Raptrin Brotherhood!"
Mallard hugged Falcone as he whispered to the former thief turned ally. "Believe me, I am sorely tempted."
Falcone then said aloud, "With the Saurians gone, why don't we go check in at the home base? Ace needs to check with his superiors, anyway, and a few of the others need to work on some projects they left at the base. I'd like to give you another swordsmanship lesson."
Mallard noted that Falcone was thinking that the swordsmanship lesson was an excuse to teach Mallard how things work in the brotherhood. He was understandably tired of the whole law enforcement thing for the moment and he looked forward to more teammate tutoring.
Mind reading was fun; he had to admit. Of course, he also wondered why Nosedive never seemed to develop the same powers he had been developing after the kid duck received a copy of the basic powers.
Once they had returned to the estate on Angel Island, the shuttle was parked and Ace went in to check with his superiors. Falcone walked with Mallard down a quiet corridor. "Use your mind power to look at a location in my mind, old buddy. Then while holding on to me, teleport the both of us to that location. When we get there, I will give you Raptrin training the same as I did for Duke in the old days. We will even get in some fencing lessons. Besides, it would be far more private than trying to train at base and you won't be blowing anything up. The ladies in the Mighty Ducks are always doing that the most. Grin is too zen like to be doing that; Wildwing and Nosedive were never military but peer pressure ruins a duck fast if you start acting like the others to fit in. And Duke is like me, if you will recall my saying it."
Mallard pulled out his phone and he called Carol, his wife. "Honey; we are back from our police training on Stallos II and now I am going to spend some fencing lesson time with Falcone; we might get a little involved and busy while this is occurring; I am always loyal to you."
He put the phone away and he held on to Falcone and he used his powers to look into the falcon's mind and he saw the Raptrin training location on Puckworld. And in the blink of an eye, the two teleported out of the base, arriving at the Raptrin Brotherhood of the Blade lair.
Mallard commented, "Looks a little dusty in here, old buddy."
Falcone smiled. "I haven't been back here for a while, if you will recall. Help me tidy up and then I'll give you the Raptrin training that I promised you. And now that you've been in here once, I know you can teleport here whenever you like."
Mallard got to work on cleaning the lair. "Is that a rocket laying on your worktable over there? The type you wanted to build for our terraforming idea originally. You know, we could still do it, if you wanted a Raptrin Brotherhood closer to Earth."
Falcone grinned. "That's what it is, Mallard, old buddy. It just dawned on me that with your magical powers, you could have changed yourself into any species you wanted to become instead of being a candidate for the Mighty Ducks. Don't get me wrong, I love how you look as an Avian; but I know you weren't very happy with it in the early days. Even your friend James made a joke about how you could be as sexy as Exile, whomever that is. All because you had Super Frozen Sight. The stuff that makes the ice that even the ducks have trouble breaking. Almost reminds me of amber."
Mallard hummed. "You mean I could set up a secondary identity when I wanted to stop being Mister Nice Guy and play on your side of the fence. That is an interesting prospect, old buddy. But I would have to choose my secondary species carefully."
