Tod had been on his way back toward Roarin' Rhoades...

...A trip he never completed. And for the last time in his life... he had missed the Howl.

Standing in shock over the fact that he had killed a young boy was the man with the gun. He was a soldier home from the war front on Christmas leave. He was totally in shock. Apparently he saw what he thought was a monster and he fired on it with his military ammo. When Tod hit the ground, he was totally human and naked.

The military man was then hypnotized by Valerian and sent to a nearby hospital where he would not remember what he had done.

At the Howling Fury... Valerian and Edward slowly entered the building guiding a floating casket. They then stopped in front of the stage and took the main microphone from King, the leader of the band, and announced the worst news ever:

"Toddrick Hunter... is dead," announced Valerian, as he handed the microphone back to King.

Appropriately, Lion's Den dedicated the final song to Tod... 'Hear Me Roar.' It was a slow and reverent song. But it reflected how everyone was sure to feel about this.

Vincent was in shock. Not just in shock, he was devastated. He stood there through the entire song... staring at the floating casket. Finally he growled loudly and stormed over to the casket, gripping the edge and looking down inside. He said softly, and vehemently, "There is no way in hell this is going to end like this. There is no way! We have some of the most powerful beings from the four corners of the world here and you are telling me we can't save one person's life?" He looks at Valerian, "Are you honestly telling me this? This person touched more lives and was more beloved than ANY other human, were, or other wise by his community and your telling me we're suppose to let this GO??"

Vincent growls through clenched fangs, "I REFUSE to let this end like this. I FLAT REFUSE to believe there is nothing we can do for him." He looks down at Tod and snarls, "I refuse to believe it was his time."

Thankfully Nick had not heard yet but Jason was in shock... He didn't know what to do or say but he staggered slightly and sat down in a chair.... He had thought highly of Toddrick. This was a hard blow for him. Surroccias was himself shocked by the events but he was quiet. Thinking.

Valerian said, "Vincent... I know you're angry, but I know the truth... this isn't Toddrick Hunter. And if you'll clear your mind, you will come to realize that my words are true. You did it yourself to supposedly save him the first time. I know the spell the same as you do. And I am sure Surroccias has figured out what I am talking about. This body... is Toddrick Hunter 2, not the original. And YOU were the one who made him through a spell. The original Tod is STILL trapped on Pleasure Island and has been since the first Howl. If you want the original back, then we have to speak to Lord Lampwick about freeing him. But if you are not willing to do that, then yes... Tod is dead. Let it go."

Vincent snarls, "That's IMPOSSIBLE!" He pauses....and grabs his coat and storms out the door, "I'll see you on the ISLAND... YOU BETTER NOT BE FUCKING WITH ME!" He storms off so mad the snow outside LITERALLY melts has passes...

Surroccias says, "Shamans.... Testy bunch, especially ones who meddle with souls, but not the best with magical spells, wouldn't you say, Valerian? I think he really didn't realize what that rite did.."

Valerian nodded to Surroccias. "Indeed. We discussed the Twinning spell on your island at great length. That is why you and I both know what it does. Now, I better go after Vincent... he's acting like a Jackass right now..." He teleports off to Pleasure Island.

Surroccias says, "Correct. However, with you, we did something special because we knew that the path of restoring you would be VERY difficult. TECHNICALLY you are in two places at once. Your original is not actually 'conscious'. You see with the way Samating works, your soul would have bonded entirely with the host. Making you completely unrecoverable HOWEVER, what we did was 'grab' a copy of you BEFORE you were Samated. A Time-Copy not just a Twinning. Samating makes Twinning... Well... It's possible but HIGHLY unstable. IF you were to die... your soul will 'snap' back to your original body.... And the original would then remember and know everything you know now. You're the same soul and mind due to the methods we used on you. We're a lot more..." He smirks, "experienced... Than Vincent is thus we can manipulate the situation more easily. However, Vincent is NOT a Mage... He's a shaman. He deals with raw elemental forces and raw souls. What he used was a 'Soul Copy' essentially. To make an entirely NEW copied twin of Toddric. I recognized it because.... The twin was not wearing the protection amulet I grafted and engifted to the ORIGINAL. It is dragon magic. And the shamanistic magic could not copy it. I've been doing this for a few hundred centuries." He chuckles, "Vincent is acting.... Well... I think Vincent's got more emotional stake in Toddric than he lets on."

Tony decided to try to break the silence with a typical Tony Fury joke. "Does this mean that we get to see Vincent with donkey ears and a donkey tail later on?"
