    James Talbot
    • Home of Origin: Talbot Compound.
    • Sex: Male
    • Type: Human
    • Family Business: Compound Maintenance/School
    • Catch-Phrase: "I wonder if..." usually followed by "I didn't mean it!"

    .
James Talbot, the Second was the only child of his father and currently doing something most kids would have been scared to death of doing... He was wrestling with a giant adult tiger, trying to get the old ragged and practically destroyed collar away from the playful feline. "COMMON... Even Baghera wasn't this stubborn! Seran, give it! We have to....get you... a new one!" He suddenly oofed as the tiger let go, sending him tumbling into one of the 21 foot cement retaining walls of the outer compound. He rubbed his head as the tiger chuffed, practically laughing at him before bolting.

James sighs, "At least I got the collar before Dad got home." He stood up and headed back into the interior compound where the more tame, tame being a very relative word in this case, smaller big cats usually made their homes. He paused at the leopards and smirks, giving the black panther a treat, "Thanks Baghera. Though he might not like your tattling on him." He giggles and headed past the smaller big cats and into the human quarters of the compounded, putting the chewed up collar on one of the tables as he got himself a drink. It was late by the time he got there.

In all of his years, he had not once set foot outside of the compound more than once or twice. But when the compound could take a day to walk from one end of the 'reserve' to the other, it almost seemed to him like the whole world. Sometimes he wondered if his father trying to keep the world out... or him in. But in either case, he loved the felines he cared far and knew every one of them by sight and name. Where most kids had a single dog for a companion, James had over 15 species of wild animals on the reserve though the big cats were by far the most prolific. Most kids' pet couldn't literally bite a man's head off either.

    Michael Hawthorne
    • Home of Origin: Coopersville
    • Sex: Male
    • Type: Human
    • Family Business: Alistair, Crumby & Hawthorne Books and Tomes
    • Catch-Phrase: "Dad! Mr. Talbot wants to find another weird book again!"
    .
Michael Hawthorne loved magic and all the stories about magic. So it only made sense that he spent a lot of time reading fairy tales and role playing in fantasy games. In video games, he would always play the wizard to play, his preference to all other classes. As he grew more acknowledged in the stories of magic, he learned that wizards weren't the only magic users available. And so he broadened his past time to include all of those occupations as well.

As he was reading a book, the phone rang. It was after hours and the family were off in the living room. The phone was in the hall nearest to the reading room. Michael went and picked up the phone. "Hawthorne residence."

The male voice on the other end was someone he had heard speak many times. "Can you ask your father to see about finding an ancient script for me on the Ocelot River Tribe in South America, please?"

Michael cupped a hand over the phone as he lifted his voice. "Dad! Mr. Talbot wants to find another weird book again!"

    Matthew Dangers
    • Home of Origin: Coopersville
    • Sex: Male
    • Type: Human
    • Family Business: Dangerous Breeds (Coopersville Pet Store)
    • Catch-Phrase: "I am sure your son will love it, sir." and "I'd wear it if I was a tiger."
    .
Matthew Dangers was the youngest of two children (his older sister was already off attending college which left him the only child in the household.) Where as his father ran the local pet store which offered rare breeds to wealthy clients, Matthew's companion at home was a large male kangaroo appropriately named "Boomer". When he wasn't spending time with his companion, Matthew's past time was puzzles and solving mysteries. He read all of the teen mystery books and he was an ace pro at hidden object games.

One afternoon while he was watching the front counter for his father at the pet store, Mr. Talbot came is to buy a new expensive collar for one of the family's big cats, a pet and companion to the young Talbot boy who lived up in the Talbot Observatory. "I'll take this one, Matthew. It's for my son's tiger. The feline chewed the last one to bits."

Matthew smiled as he rang up the sale. "I am sure your son will love it, sir."

Mr. Talbot replied with a smile. "I am sure James the Second will, too. I just hope the tiger loves wearing it."

"I'd wear it if I was a tiger," came the reply with a winky smile.
